Soweto rivals Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates will square off in a much-anticipated final of the Nedbank Cup for the 2024/25 Betway Premiership season.

Both teams advanced into the final on Sunday, Pirates beating Marumo Gallants 1-0 earlier in the day at the Orlando Stadium, meanwhile Amakhosi registered a hard fought 1-2 victory over Mamelodi Sundowns at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in the City of Tshwane.
This was the fourth meeting between these two this season, with Masandawana winning three of their encounters, twice in the league and the other in the Carling Knockout.
Football loving fans who packed Loftus were treated to a fast paced first half of the match with each side breaking a sweat hoping for an opener.

It was however the home side, whose supremacy paid off in the stroke of half time when Teboho Mokoena’s free kick on the outside the box had Chiefs goalie Bruce Bvuma with no chance, affording Sundowns a lead into the half time.
The second half resumed with just as much fire, with both sides pushing to find the back of the net. Amakhosi squared matters just before the hour mark via Wandile Duba, who slotted one past keeper Ronwen Williams.

The visitors pressed on, keeping their nemesis in check, rescuing the match from going into extra time when substitute Ashley Du Preeze sent one home on the 87th minute. Du Preeze had replaced Duba.
The Glamour Boys will be looking at ending their trophy drought season by winning the Ke Yona Cup, while the Buccaneers will be looking at defending the trophy.
The Moses Mabhida Stadium will host this final on the 10th of May 2025. Kick-off time and ticket sales will be announced in due course.
