BAPSFONTEIN, Gauteng — The Apostolic Faith Church of Portland Oregon, South Africa, has concluded its 2026 Annual Camp Meeting after a week-long gathering focused on salvation, worship, prayer and Christian fellowship.

The camp meeting which gathers believers from all over South Africa and neighbouring countries, was held from Sunday, 27 September to Sunday, 4 October 2026 at the church’s headquarters’ Plot 118/10 R50 Delmas Road, Rietfontein, Bapsfontein. It was held under the theme “Salvation by the Remission of Sins”, drawn from Luke 1:77: “To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins.”
The annual gathering provided an opportunity for members and congregants to come together for worship, Bible teaching, prayer and fellowship, with the central message emphasising salvation through Jesus Christ and the importance of living according to biblical teachings.
The church describes its mission as spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, with prayer, preaching and Christian literature forming important elements of its ministry. Its teachings place particular emphasis on salvation, sanctification and the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

The 2026 camp meeting also reflected the church’s growing presence across South Africa. The South African organisation has branch churches in nine provinces.
The gathering was also presented as a time for believers to strengthen their faith and relationships with fellow Christians. The programme’s emphasis on “worship, the Word, prayer and fellowship” underscored the church’s traditional approach to Christian ministry.
A church with more than a century of history
The Apostolic Faith Church has its roots in Portland, Oregon. Its core teachings include the Bible as the Word of God and the Christian experiences of salvation, sanctification and baptism in the Holy Spirit.

Over the decades, the church expanded beyond the United States, establishing congregations in different parts of the world. Its international work includes a significant presence across Africa and other continents.
In South Africa, the church maintains congregations in several provinces and offers regular services including prayer meetings, Bible teaching, Sunday School, devotional services and evangelical services.
The conclusion of the 2026 Annual Camp Meeting marks another chapter in the church’s ongoing ministry in South Africa, with its message centred on faith in Christ, salvation and the call for believers to deepen their relationship with God.

For the Apostolic Faith Church, the annual camp remains more than a gathering—it is an opportunity to renew faith, strengthen fellowship and reaffirm its commitment to spreading the Gospel.
