Mamelodi Sundowns will play their first home league match of the Betway Premiership season when they face Marumo Gallants on Wednesday evening, after the fixture was postponed during the opening week of the campaign.
Speaking to the media at Chloorkop on Monday, Sundowns defender Grant Kekana said preparations for the match have been going well and that the team is ready for the challenge.
Kekana said the players are pleased with the positive start they have made and are focused on building momentum as the season continues.
“I think the preparations are going well. We started on a good note; there are a lot of positives that we’re doing and it’s just about us building. We’re quite ready for the first game of the season, our first home game. We just want to urge the supporters to come in numbers, come early. We obviously have a few surprises for them. We’re looking forward to Wednesday’s game,” Kekana told the media.
Sundowns have already played two matches this season, beating TS Galaxy 3-2 in their opening game before drawing 1-1 with Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday. They will now be looking to continue their solid start when they host Gallants.
