TakealotNOW Expands Southern Suburbs Reach With New Constantia Hub

by Dzudzie Faith Netshisaulu

The on-demand delivery service opens its 10th hub, bringing faster access to everyday goods across Cape Town’s southern corridor.

Takealot has expanded the footprint of its on-demand delivery service, TakealotNOW, with the opening of a new hub in Constantia, strengthening its reach across Cape Town’s Southern Suburbs.

The Constantia site is the service’s 10th hub and will serve customers in areas including Kenilworth, Constantia, Tokai, Grassy Park and Muizenberg, as demand grows for faster access to everyday products.

Through the Mr D app, TakealotNOW gives customers access to thousands of Takealot products for delivery in an average of about 40 minutes. The service forms part of the fast-growing quick-commerce market, which has moved beyond groceries into a wider range of general merchandise.

Customers can order items ranging from tech accessories, beauty and personal care products to books, toys, sports equipment, DIY supplies, homeware and small appliances.

“The opening of our 10th hub is a significant milestone for TakealotNOW. It means we can reach more customers in the Southern Suburbs and make a wider range of products available to them when they need them,” said Karla Levick, chief marketing officer at Takealot.com.

Since launching in 2023, TakealotNOW has expanded its network across South Africa, with hubs now operating in Gauteng, the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.

The range of products ordered through the service reflects both routine household needs and more unexpected last-minute purchases.

Recent orders have included Montego Classic Adult Dog Food 20kg, Baby Soft Toilet Paper 18-pack, pregnancy tests, Lego Speed Champions, Fujifilm Instax Mini Film, Apple AirPods and iPads, and Xiaomi TV Box S.

Takealot said it will continue to expand access to a wider range of products while serving more neighbourhoods through its hub network.
