Mamelodi Sundowns have already played two Betway Premiership matches this season, beating TS Galaxy and drawing with Kaizer Chiefs, as they prepare to face Marumo Gallants on Wednesday evening at Loftus Stadium in a postponed fixture.
Speaking to journalists during a media open day at Chloorkop on Monday, Sundowns midfielder Marcelo Allende said the team has been working well in training and is ready for the challenge.
“We are doing well. We are taking it training by training and we are ready for the next one. We have played three games already, won two of them and drew the third one, but we will keep together and we are ready for the next one,” Allende told the media.
Sundowns began their season with a 3-2 MTN8 win over Polokwane City before opening their Betway Premiership campaign with another 3-2 victory, this time against TS Galaxy. They then played to a 1-1 draw with Kaizer Chiefs last Saturday.
Wednesday’s match against Gallants will be Sundowns’ third league fixture of the campaign, and they will be aiming to keep pace with the early front-runners after Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs and AmaZulu FC have all collected two wins and a draw.
The match kicks off at 19:30 at Loftus Stadium in Pretoria.
